The Principal

Born in Asheville, NC, Jefferson Ellison is a graduate of NC State University. He freelanced as a stylist during his college years, working with brands such as Cotton Incorporated, HGTV, The TLC Network, InStyle magazine, etc. After interning with BCBG and Herve Leger, Jefferson graduated college and moved to New York City, where he worked in fashion sales and PR. Over the years, he's worked with Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Barneys NY, Bergdorf Goodman, Dillards, Belk, JC Penny, Heurueh, and more.

 

"For better or worst, I've been a professional in this industry since I was 16. First as a stylist, then later as a business consultant and publicist. I am always the youngest person in the room and usually the only person of color. Black people and young people are 2 of the biggest and most loyal consumer groups on the planet, and we are never represented. After moving to NYC and seeing this all first hand, I realized that it wasn't just in my small town, and there was a real need for someone who could hold space and nuance. Someone from the South who understood how big cities and markets worked, and someone from a different perspective who could speak the language of business. So that's what we do. And we do it well."
